Synopsis

Combing is a daily grooming practice that is crucial to preserving one's social appearance, confidence, and personal hygiene. Despite its apparent simplicity, combing necessitates the coordinated use of the hand, arm, shoulder, and sensory systems. This monograph highlights the importance of combing in everyday life by examining it from anatomical, physiological, kinesiological, sociological, and cultural viewpoints. Reduced independence and low self-esteem can result from combing difficulties brought on by pain, weakness, injury, or restricted movement. The study also highlights the function of occupational therapy in recognizing obstacles and offering workable solutions and modifications to enable people to carry out this crucial task comfortably and independently.
